Creating the Geometry Loop Prototype
After forming the basic concept of Geometry Loop, we proceeded to create a prototype. Our goal was simple: to embody the idea of changing geometry in a playable form and check how interesting and intuitive it is.
The development of the Geometry Loop prototype revealed a number of technical challenges. Implementing radial rays that change the geometry of the level turned out to be a difficult task. We experimented with various approaches, trying to find a balance between visual appeal and performance.
Testing the Geometry Loop Concept
The first tests of the Geometry Loop prototype showed that the concept was indeed exciting, but needed refinement. Many testers noted that the game mechanics were intriguing, but sometimes confusing. This made us think about how to make Geometry Loop more accessible while maintaining its uniqueness.
We began work on improving visual feedback in Geometry Loop so that players could better understand how their actions affect the geometry of the level. This included developing special effects and animations that became an important part of the Geometry Loop aesthetics.
